Chatsworth, statley home of the DUke and Duchess of Devonshire, is also known at the "Palace of the Peak". Every autumn a country fair is held in the 1000 acre grounds, offering a great chance to persue local arts and crafts and to buy delicious homemade preserves, cakes and other yummy things from more than 300 stalls.
Chatsworth Country Fair attracts crowds from all over the country, entertainment includes massed pipe and military bands, demonstrations and parades, hot air balloons, parachuting displays. Country activities to watch and participate in include clay pigeon shooting, archery, sheep dog trails, fishing competition and over 300 varied trade stands and rural crafts make this a spectacular event.
